Marlene Dietrich was one of the most glamorous and alluring stars of the silver screen. She was born in Berlin in 1901 and began her career as a chorus girl. She quickly rose to stardom, becoming one of the most popular actresses in Germany. In 1930, she signed a contract with Paramount Pictures and moved to Hollywood. She starred in a number of classic films, including The Blue Angel (1930),Morocco (1930),and Shanghai Express (1932).

Billy Wilder was born in Vienna in 1906. He began his career as a journalist in Berlin. In the early 1930s, he moved to Hollywood and began writing screenplays. He quickly became one of the most successful screenwriters in Hollywood, writing such classics as Double Indemnity (1944),Sunset Boulevard (1950),and Some Like It Hot (1959).

Dietrich and Wilder met in Berlin in the early 1930s. They quickly became friends and their friendship lasted for over 50 years. They were both outsiders in Hollywood, and they shared a love of film and a disdain for the Hollywood establishment.

Hollywood Berlin is a dual biography that tells the story of these two extraordinary lives. The book is full of fascinating anecdotes and insights, and it offers a unique perspective on the golden age of Hollywood.

If you are a fan of classic Hollywood films, or if you are interested in the lives of two of the most iconic figures from that era, then you will love Hollywood Berlin.
