Marlene Dietrich was one of the most glamorous and alluring stars of the silver screen. She was born in Berlin in 1901 and began her career as a chorus girl. Dietrich and Wilder met in Berlin in the early 1930s. They quickly became friends and their friendship lasted for over 50 years. They were both outsiders in Hollywood, and they shared a love of film and a disdain for the Hollywood establishment.
