About the Author

Karuna Riazi is an Afghan-American author and activist. She was born in Afghanistan and raised in the United States. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School. After working as a lawyer for several years, Karuna founded the Karuna Riazi Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides education and support to Afghan women and girls.

The Battle Karuna Riazi is Karuna's first novel. It is based on her own experiences growing up in Afghanistan and her work with Afghan women and girls.
